The Corop Wetlands have been a haven for over 60 species of local and migratory waterbird species. Brolga frequent these wetland areas and breed when wetlands are full.

Along with the diverse variety of waterbird species, birds to be seen in the area include: Swift Parrot, Grey Crowned Babbler, Bush Stone Curlew and Powerful Owl.
